Facebook

Moving into the vast world of cyber space, Boyd Photography is now on Facebook. It started out to be a convenient way to let our clients see a sampling of pictures before their album is done. It allows them to share with the world a few "preview" photos of their day. But this Facebook page has become so much more than that for me.

I've been on Facebook for a while but only to keep up with friends, find old friends and play games. Now, there is a new dimension. I find myself obsessed with checking on our photo page, adding new content and seeing who has become a fan! I've learned that its a great way to let folks know more about who Kelly and I are, our personalities, as well as our passion for photography, this great adventure called life and our family.

Facebook lends a venue for brides and grooms to learn more about our philosophy toward weddings. We believe that when planning a wedding one of the most important things a bride and groom can do is choose a photographer. Photos of your wedding are a personal reflection of your special day, so choosing a photographer should also be personal. This person should be someone you can count when not everything goes right. Someone who can make quick decisions to compensate for rain when the pictures were to be taken outside, someone who is flexible when the wedding does not start on time, or grandma wasn't there for the group shots, and someone who is going to be on the look out for those little special moments. I'm not referring to those all important group photos....I'm referring to those little moments; like when a flower girl falls asleep on a chair in the corner during the reception; that look on mom's face when she is dancing with her son.

Kelly and I have years of photojournalism behind us. That training has taught us to always be looking for those "little moments".

That's why I am so proud of our Facebook page, it allows everyone to see a little of what we see when we look through our lens. It lets people see who we are.....
